Welcome. This Web Page is primarily dedicated to the promotion of the one "hope of the gospel" (Eph.4:4, Col.1:23) and the destruction of various "winds of doctrine" (Eph.4:14) that are blowing about the Church to eclipse, counterfeit, or downright oppose the hope.
The hope has two main aspects:
1. The Doctrine of the Kingdom of God (size: 192 KB) (also available as an ebook on the Nook)
You believe that Jesus is the "Christ"? This book defines what Jesus' identity as "the Messiah" really means, emphasizing Jesus' 1st Advent mission, and soon and coming 2nd Advent mission, presenting a systematic yet concise presentation of what "the whole counsel of God "(the Bible interpreted according to its grammatical-historical context alone) teaches about "the kingdom of God", presenting a view similar to that of Alva J. McClain who wrote, The Greatness of the Kingdom. It includes Appendices examining the false doctrines of George Eldon Ladd and John Wimber re the "kingdom," false doctrines that are widely held and promoted in much of the "evangelical church" to the spiritual detriment of the Body of Christ. It begins with a Chapter called, "Pragmatism: Archenemy of Theology."
2. The Resurrection/Rapture of the Church. See my testimony for how my eyes were enlightened to this glorious truth. The hope is expressed in a song I wrote. See also a piece a friend of mine wrote in 1992 about the hope.
"For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord." (1Thes 4:16-17 )
"Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed-- in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed." (1 Cor 15:51-52 )
Contemporary threats to the biblical doctrine about the hope:
Bill Bright's, "The 4 Spiritual Laws/life abundantly" gospel. Adapted from something I wrote in 1991.
Bill Bright's 1995 prophesy re "The Coming Revival"
The "Latter Rain" movement : An excellent out-of-print article written by Thomas Ice in 1990.
PK's certain expectation of an "unprecedented revival" as per the PK book, The Awesome Power of Shared Beliefs, which "hope" (cf. David Bryant, "Prisoners of Hope", New Man magazine, Sept. 1996, pp.30-35) they believe must be precursored (based on a misunderstanding of John 17 ) by what they call, "biblical unity."
James Ryle's dreams: This article was published in the May 1996 issue of The Christian Conscience.
The "Third Wave" movement. See letters I wrote to the elders of South Hills Community Church (SHCC) in San Jose, CA on 10/1/92 (unsent) and 02/10/93 (exit letter) for an example of a local church getting moved away from the hope of the gospel by various false doctrines related to all of the above.
"Spiritual warfare" - published in the May 1997 Berean Call.
Dangers in PK's "Brothers!" text
There are various factors contributing to this abandonment of the hope by the average Christian today:
Making promises: Neither Jesus or His apostles ever instructed Christian to make promises, as this PK-cornering file clearly establishes. In Promise Keepers case, "committing" to some of them contributes to men being moved away from the hope of the gospel to another hope, "the entire would coming to know God's love" (cf. inside dust cover of, The Seven Promises of a Promise Keeper):
